The journey
From distributor to producer
A cinema enthusiast since childhood, Chandrasekhar began his career as a film distributor before moving into production — learning the business of cinema from the ground up before shaping stories himself.
His first major project, the Tamil film Bommainayakom, marked the start of a career that has since spanned work as producer, co-producer, executive producer and line producer, across numerous Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Hindi films.
Under the Aaraat Entertainments banner, he has produced and partnered on films including Vaishakhini, a Kannada–Marathi bilingual starring Pavan Shetty and Anitha Bhatt, alongside Othigai (Tamil), Mr. Marumakan (Malayalam), and several commercially successful Kannada titles. In the late 1980s, he also produced short films, television serials and music albums — early groundwork for a career built on backing new stories and new talent.
